Worksop Town will travel to Humberside outfit Barton Town Old Boys this Saturday (3pm).

Barton Town Old Boys are one of a clutch of teams currently just outside the main title race, but who will still harbour ambitions to finish in the top two.

Last season they finished second in the table, amassing an impressive 93 points and losing out on the league title to Brighouse Town.

Saturday’s hosts should be in a confident mood, having lost just two games in their last 13 outings.

Those defeats came in their last four games, at Staveley and Garforth.

But their most recent fixture was in the FA Vase, in which they thumped Liverpool side Bootle 5-2.

Dangerman for Barton Town will undoubtedly be Scott Phillips, who has an impressive 15 goals to his credit already this season.

He’s backed up in the goalscoring column by Ashley Lattimore who has hit the net seven times.

Saturday will see the opening of a newly refurbished clubhouse function room, at The Euronics Ground.sf

Worksop will be the first away team to use these improved facilities, and pre-match entertainment starts at 2pm when the town mayor will declare the clubhouse officially open.

Barton Community Brass Band will play from 2pm until kick-off, with a cheerleading squad taking centre stage at half-time.
