Breakers Wasps rested key players for their Sheffield Cup game on Sunday, and were punished by a determined Harworth Pavilion side.

The visitors progressed in the competition with a 3-1 victory, but it was Wasps who started brighter.

Ten minutes into the game Wasps hit the post, and came close again when Wood set up Storey who could only fire over.

Harworth hit Wasps on the counter attack and their striker slotted home to take the lead.

The score was 1-0 at half-time but Harworth soon doubled their lead when a defensive error from Breakers brought a goal.

Breakers could and should have pulled a goal back but poor finishing let them down.

Harworth continued to counter attack and got their third on 85 minutes, before Wasps pulled a goal back through Mitchell Batty.

Manton Club JFC had to fight hard to get past Stanley Street Galacticos, booking a place in the next round with a 2-1 win.

JFC were quickest off the mark when a long ball found Matthew Button’s feet and he squared the ball to Matthew Thompson who calmly slotted home.

Galacticos quickly fought back with some good possession and when a cross from the right midfield passed the entire JFC defence it was Tom Elliot who slotted in the equaliser.

Galactico Elliot also had another chance go begging before the break when he headed for goal, only to be denied by the woodwork.

JFC struggled to get going in the second half and it was Galacticos with all the possession.

But JFC’s Karl Gibson stayed alert, only having to make one save the whole half.

JFC kept battling and working the hardest out of the two sides to break the defence down, and it paid off when some sleek passing allowed substitute Kerry Watkinson to smash home the winner from 5yards in the dying seconds of the game.
