The Worksop Guardian Player of the Year award is open for voting, and we want Tigers fans to have their say.

Readers are invited to email their nomination, from the current Worksop squad, to sport@worksop-guardian.co.uk

The deadline for entries is 18th April, and the award will be presented at Sandy Lane on 23rd, when Tigers host Albion Sports.

Centre-half Tom Burgin picked up last year’s award, and football writer Graham Smyth says there are a couple of leading candidates for this year’s trophy.

He said: “Goalkeeper Jon Kennedy has had a consistent season between the sticks and has shown that his age is no barrier to maintaining impressive form.

“Another player sure to garner votes is Kyle Jordan, the club’s top goalscorer who has hit the net 31 times this season.

“Steve Woolley has been hit with injury problems at times, but he’s another who has caught the eye with Man of the Match performances.”
