Mark Shaw says Saturday’s trip to Staveley Miners Welfare is a must win game, after a bleak midwinter for Worksop Town.
Tigers’ last league victory came almost two months ago, when they beat Nostell Miners Welfare at the start of November.
Since then they’ve exited the FA Vase, League Cup and picked up just two points from four league outings.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s game against Staveley Shaw said: “We’ve got to win haven’t we?
“We had a chance last weekend to go top, and unfortunately we haven’t taken that chance, so we’ve got to make sure we start to take our chances now and get ourselves amongst that leading pack.”
The manager is still trying to bring new faces in to bolster his squad, but no news was expected before Saturday’s match.
“We’ll start progressing that front now after Christmas, we’ll look at who and what will be coming in, and if they want to come in then that’s up to them.
“We’re going to try our best to get some bodies in and to freshen things up.”
