Former Owls defender Andy Hinchcliffe says the feelgood factor is back at Hillsborough following their impressive march up the Championship table.
Carlos Carvalhal’s troops sit ninth in the standings, four points adrift of the play-off positions, after losing just one of their last 10 league matches.
Hinchcliffe, who has watched Wednesday live in action against Hull City, Rotherham United and Arsenal, is backing Carvalhal’s side to bounce back quickly from their defeat at Charlton Athletic last weekend.
The media pundit told Sky Sports: “In the Championship, you are going to lose games, it is a tough division. If they (Wednesday) continue doing what they’ve been doing, they’ll be dark horses for promotion. It is the whole feeling around the club. I’ve been back a few times and you feel something is happening at Sheffield Wednesday. One defeat is not the end of the world.”
Hinchcliffe has also praised the job Carvalhal has done, saying: “One defeat in 12 is an amazing run. You don’t go on a run like that through good fortune.”
