Joe Bryan has warned Sheffield United they could be overwhelmed at Ashton Gate tomorrow, writes James Shield.
The Bristol City midfielder issued the threat after watching Steve Cotterill’s side, who beat Port Vale in midweek, move four points clear at the top of the League One table.
United travel to the south-west placed sixth but Bryan said: “Attacking football is in our make-up and I don’t see that changing, whoever we are playing. It doesn’t matter whether it’s Port Vale or Sheffield United, we approach every game the same.
“We always look to push the wing-backs and central midfielders on and even one of the central defenders. We don’t like sitting back and defending, because that is not how we want to play the game.
“We pride ourselves on playing attacking football and we are happy to have a reputation for doing so. That is something the manager encourages us to do.”
Bryan added: “When we’re on top in games and winning 1-0, we should be looking to score the second and third goals.
“I think we should be winning more games by three or four-nil. We don’t want to be winning 1-0 and seeing games out, we want to be killing the opposition off earlier if we can.
“Why settle for one, when you should be focussing on scoring twos, threes and fours?
“We don’t focus on the other teams around us, we just look at our own performances and at how many points we can pick up.”
