Referee Dave Plowright was not the reason Worksop Town lost to Tadcaster Albion on Wednesday said boss Mark Shaw.

The man in black sent defender Julian Lawrence off in the second half for two bookable offences.

While Shaw took issue with the consistency of the match official’s performance, he said it wasn’t why Tigers were beaten.

“The consistency isn’t there from the referee. Julian has two fouls, one of them debatable, he gets yellow for both,” said Shaw.

“Another player puts two fouls in and gets a talking to with their captain.

“He hasn’t cost us the game though, we’ve not shown what a good side we are.

“We’ve lost because we’ve not done enough.”
