Goalkeeper Jon Harris-Stewart has been released from his contract by Conference Premier club Alfreton Town.

The giant stopper, who impressed between the posts for Worksop Town last season, lost his starting place at Alfreton to Cameron Dawson.

Nicknamed ‘the beast’ by Alfreton fans, he made 34 appearances for the side based at the Impact Arena, keeping eight clean sheets.

Worksop boss Mark Shaw had hoped to retain his services during the summer, before Tigers dropped to NCEL Premier level with a greatly reduced budget.
