Mark Shaw believes he could trust Sam Liversidge anywhere on the pitch.

The manager was impressed with the defender’s performance at Liversedge on Tuesday, when he grabbed a deserved goal in a fine display.

Liversidge has stood out in recent games with a number of skilful runs out of defence, and a solid showing at the back.

Shaw said: “Sam Liversidge could play anywhere, in any position.”

“If I needed him to go and play left wing you probably wouldn’t realise he was a centre-half.”

“I thought he was outstanding tonight, he’s an outstanding addition to the club.”

“He was someone we wanted to get in last year in the Evo-Stik Premier.”
