One of the most prestigious pieces of football silverware will be on show at Sandy Lane on Saturday.
The FA Cup trophy will be present before Worksop Town host Hallam FC in the competition’s extra preliminary round, in a match steeped in history.
The tie sees the world’s second oldest club, Hallam FC, take on the world’s fourth oldest club, Worksop Town, in one of the world’s oldest cup competition.
The trophy will be on show from 12noon at the club alongside the Youdan Cup, won by Hallam FC in 1867, ahead of a 3pm kick off at Sandy Lane.
A statement on Worksop Town’s official club website read: “The club is honoured to be able to put both these two historic cups on display at game featuring the fourth oldest club in the world v the second oldest club.
“So why not get down to Sandy Lane on Saturday to watch the game as well as getting the chance of seeing some historic silverware.”
