A Worksop town centre curry house is helping one of the longest running Sunday League sides to continue, with a new sponsorship deal.

Worksop Borough boss Lee Howard believes the backing of local firms is crucial for Sunday sides.

Speaking after confirming the sponsorship deal with Jhinook on Ryton Street, he said: “We’re so grateful for the backing because this kind of support means clubs can keep going – it would be very difficult for Sunday sides without sponsorship.”

Jakir Ali presented the new shirts to Borough’s Matt Booth and Peter Pettinger this week.

Borough are hoping to replicate last season’s success, when they won all three of the Worksop Sunday League competitions on offer, Division One, the Challenge Cup and Benevolent Cup.
