Bridon’s relegation battle going to the wire

Ordsall Bridon’s battle to avoid relegation from the Notts Premier Cricket League looks like it will go right down to the wire.

Two games remain in the season, and after they lost to West Indian Cavaliers on Saturday, they now sit level on points with Mansfield Hosiery Mills.

Ordsall Bridon are holding up the table, with Mansfield the side directly above them, but Welbeck Colliery could still be caught by either side.

Saturday’s game was a rout, as Bridon were dismissed for 59 runs, and the Cavaliers lost only one wicket as they reached 60.

This Saturday, Bridon host Clifton Village.

In Bassetlaw Division One, Retford took the lion’s share of points from their draw with Harthill.

Chandra Kumara hit 69 runs, and Nathan Singleton took 3 for 7 to earn 16 points for the Cricket Field Lane side.

On Saturday Retford, who sit third in the table, visit Mansfield.
