FOR the third week in a row Welbeck Men's first team were in the situation of a match tied at 4-4 with a final set tie-break to decide the match.
Again it was captain Steve White, this time partnering Nick Sturrock, who was involved in the deciding match.

This time it was to end in victory with them taking the tie-break 10-6.

Earlier Tim Hart and Sandy Fulton missed two match points bef
ore losing the third set tiebreak 11-9 against the Beauchief first pair.

They, and first pair Stuart Tait and David Millns, weighed in with two matches each to give an overall 5-4 victory.

This meant they leapfrogged Beauchief into second place in the promotion drive to Division One.

The second team had an agonising 5-4 loss to Doncaster D, putting their Division Four status in jeopardy.

Nick Janokowski and Sean Ryan won all their matches with Dave Morris and Addy Hill winning one.

Daz Wheeler and Pete Jones were unable to make inroads into the three Doncaster pairs.

Welbeck Ladies continued their march back to Division One by thrashing Fulwood 9-0.

All three pairs won easily to consolidate their position at the top of the division.

The juniors had a narrow victiory against Hallam Grange last weekend.

The match was tied 3-3, as were the sets but they won by seven games.

Andrew Lowe lost his singles 2-6, 5-7, Ed Riddell won his 6-1, 3-6, 10-3.

They then lost their doubles 6-1, 2-6, 6-10.

Kieran Wright won his singles 6-2, 6-3, but Joe Drabble lost his 6-1, 4-6, 6-10.

They then combined to win their doubles 6-4, 5-7, 10-3.
