WORKSOP Town have captured the signature of Blue Square North striker Danny Bacon.
The 28-year-old, who has tasted league football with Mansfield Town and Lincoln City, has returned to the club where he spent three months in 2006.

Bacon spent last season at Hucknall Town, and had a trial with his home town team, Mansfield, before agreeing to sign for Peter Rinkcavage's Tigers.

The Worksop Town boss said: "He was a player who Hucknall had a lot of bids for last season, from Gainsborough and Alfreton."

"We've been talking to him for two months, he came to training on Saturday and he signed last night."

"I'm really, really pleased, he's scored goals at all levels and he's flirted with league football throughout his career."

"At non league level he's done ever so well, and he's a good signing for us."

Bacon was part of the Mansfield Town team who won promotion to Division Two in 2002.

He featured in 11 games for Worksop four years later, scoring in home wins against Leigh RMI and Lancaster City.

Read this week's Guardian for Rinkcavage's thoughts on his squad so far, and the gruelling pre-season he has in store for his players.
