CLOWNE Road Runners Andy Ward and Lewis Banton have both gained their county colours for Derbyshire.
The runners represented the county at the Inter Counties Fell Racing Championships at The Belmont Winter Hill Fell Race in Lancashire.

This outstanding achievement for the duo is the first of its kind in the club's 25 years of existence.

The race was a short course with runners having to complete 4.5 miles and climb around 1,000 foot of ascent.

With temperatures soaring and very humid conditions, it became a very tough race for all concerned.

In excess of 400 elite runners, representing counties throughout Britain, took part in the event in Lancashire.

Andy Ward came in a very creditable 11th, followed by Clown Road Runners team-mate Lewis Banton in 41st position.
