WORKSOP athletics prospect Codie Marsh ran a personal best at the Nottinghamshire Track and Field Championships this weekend.
Codie's 800m time of 2:26 was enough to gain second place on Saturday, and in Sunday's 1500m race she ran a creditable time of 5:11, despite making her debut at that distance.

Her 1500m effort gave her a second silver medal as she finished behind a very good Mansfield runner, at the top age of the Under 15 girls' section.

Codie has only just gone up to the under 15s and only finished two seconds behind the same Mansfield runner in the 800m.

She is now looking to better her time and would ideally like to get to the English Schools standard of 2.20 in the 800m.

This weekend she will run in the Y.A league for her club Rotherham Harriers and hopefully get a better time to push her up to nearer the English Schools standard.

l THE third running of the Larwood 10km attracted 345 runners last Sunday.

In rather hot conditions Danny Scott (13th, 39:29) led the Worksop Harriers home.

He was followed by: Rob Roper (28th, 42:09), Terry Millington (32nd, 42:40), Philip Harrop (38th, 43:37), Tony Savage (39th, 43:40), Martin Holland (176th, 54:11), Donna Blizard (217th, 57:12).

A couple of hardy Harriers also tackled the Totley Tigers Todger fell race, which includes 850ft of ascent and decent.

Philip Harrop (91st, 45:36) finished the six-mile race followed by Dennis Learad (100th, 46:13).
