PUPILS, staff and parents at Mount St Mary's College have caught the Wimbledon bug.
The school recently held its very own version of the prestigious tennis tournament.
They gathered at the Spinkhill school for a Wimbledon Sunday competition, which featured a series of fixtures, including mixed American doubles in rounds followed by semi-finals and finals.
Organised by the Mount St Mary's Parents' Association, there were prizes for juniors and seniors, and for the fastest serve.
Junior coaching was also organised by Pete Leadbetter, from Beauchief Tennis , and money raised on the day will be used to support other activities in school.
Diane Burkinshaw, chair of the Parents' Association at Mount St Mary's College, said: "The tournament was great fun and a fantastic way to encourage pupils, staff and parents to pick up a racquet and get into the summer tennis spirit."
"It was also really competitive and there were lots of friendly rivalries for the fastest serve title."
"One of the semi-finals even lasted an hour, showing the skill and determination of the pairs."
An enthralling final saw parent Ian Appleyard and school boarder Virginia Faixat, from Spain, beat Mount St Mary's head of boarding Wessel Du Randt and Winnie Yeung, from Doncaster.
Virginia also won the fastest serve competition, while fellow boarders Joaquim Llimona took the junior male fastest serve title and Max Hassler won the prize for the fastest senior male serve.
Parent Tara Thompson, from Spinkhill, won the senior female fastest serve.

WELBECK'S first team gained a first win in Division One, beating Fulwood 5-4.
It won't be enough to prevent relegation but it was a very welcome win.
All pairs lost to the Fulwood first pair but Welbeck firsts Tim Hart and Stuart Tate beat the second and third pairs.
Welbeck seconds Dave Millns and Sean Ryan defeated both lower Fulwood pairs.
Third pair Steve White and Nick Sturrock beat the second pair 6-3, 6-0.
The men's second team finished on a high, beating Hallamshire C 5-4 to ensure Division Four tennis next season.
The midweek mixed B side won at Mexborough to stay top of Division Three.
Ian Young and Laura Wright, Mike Sheldon and Lynda Moore produced a 4-0 win.
The ladies were well beaten by Dore and Totley 4-14, with the only sets won by Lorraine Walker and Cath Fulton.
The Under 15 juniors won by default when Moorgate were unable to field a team.
Welbeck are hosting a County U12 tournament at 2pm on Sunday.
