ENGLAND fast bowler Matthew Hoggard is bringing a team to Tickhill, next week, in support of his Benefit year.
The Matthew Hoggard Xl is expected to include most of the current Yorkshire squad.

Commenting on next week’s game, he said: “I am looking forward to a great day out in Tickhill and I am very grateful for the club’s support.”

“Hopefully we will have a sunny day, good cricket and a few laughs along the way.”

Hoggard, right, has played in 67 tests and 26 one-day internationals, taking 248 test wickets and 32 wickets in the limited overs competitions. His best figures in a test match came against South Africa three years ago when he took 7 for 61.

He is sixth in the all-time list of England’s wicket takers in Test cricket.

The event will also include competitions, a raffle and, hopefully, a chance for children to have a bowl at a top cricketer. There will also be an auction of cricket memorabilia.

The barbecue will be fired up for the day with a menu prepared by the Taj Cottage, Tickhill’s award-winning restaurant.

The game will be played on Tuesday 19th August, starting at 1.30pm.

Entrance is £2 for adults and £1 for children. There is limited car parking space available at £3.
