HOMES in Edwinstowe were blacked out on Thursday evening.
A car left the road and hit a pole carrying high voltage cables, knocking out the supply to around 1,700 homes.

Electricity supplies in the Edwinstowe and Thoresby areas were cut for several hours after the incident, but Central Networks restored power in in the early hours of Friday.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but no-one is thought to have been seriously hurt.
