WITH reference to MP John Mann’s column in the Worksop Guardian (March 2nd), which I believe may have led to some confusion amongst your readers.
The £20m which Mr Mann refers to in the sixth paragraph is the amount of money which Nottinghamshire County Council has pledged towards the widening of the A453 – an improvement which, it has been estimated, will bring a boost to Nottinghamshire’s economy of £540m.
Approval for this was given at last month’s full council budget meeting. The cost of the scheme to improve the safety of the A60 at Carlton by installing lighting is £205,000.
