I, like most Bassetlaw residents have had at one time or another a disappointing experience with Bassetlaw Hospital and all too often it’s the nurses who get the criticism.
However, I am so proud of my daughter who is a Renal Nurse at the Dialysis Unit at Bassetlaw Hospital that I felt that I had to share her dedication with you and no doubt there are many like her who provide such a wonderful service.
On the first day of the severe weather we have encountered recently, and knowing that her patients must have dialysis to stay alive, my daughter who is pregnant walked three miles through the snow and freezing weather to get to work to ensure that her patients received the treatment they needed.
Her husband, naturally fearing for her safety and the journey being in the early hours of the morning walked the difficult journey with her.
Nurses need our support not our criticism and my husband and I as parents are so very proud of our daughter.
