LETTER: Speeding Fines

Look closely before just paying up

After being summoned to court for a speeding offence on October 10, 2014, the case against myself was dismissed by the CPS on the grounds of no evidence.

This is because when the photograph was taken of me in my car, the officer employed to undertake the duty of enforcing the speed limit and use of the equipment, made a statement saying he was monitoring traffic westbound going toward Gateford Road. I was in actual fact heading eastbound toward Blyth Road. I now have to wonder how many more hundreds of people were issued fines, points and driver awareness courses because of this sort of thing.

I urge the people of Worksop to take a close look and not just to dive in and pay fines and accept points.
