North Notts College’s Early Learners’ Centre, on Carlton Road, has received a rating of Good in all areas of assessment, following a visit by the watchdog’s inspectors in January.

Nursery manager Julie Truman said “I am extremely proud of the Early Learners’ Centre team, we work incredibly hard to ensure that our children are happy and are given the best possible start in their early year’s education.

“The staff are very passionate about their work with our children and families and appreciate that their efforts have been recognised.”

The nursery is open to children of students, staff and local families in the area, and cares for children aged from two- to four-years-old.

In their official report, Ofsted inspectors said: “Staff work closely with parents to maintain a wide knowledge of children’s interests and achievements, both at home and in nursery.

“Staff purposefully engage with children and get down to their level. They are skilled at motivating and enthusing children in their play, and children are well prepared for the next stage in their learning.”

Parents were quick to agree with the report’s findings, with one saying: “I cannot thank the staff enough for the time and support they have given not only to my son but also to me.

“He took a while to settle but working together with the centre team, his development is clear and he is now a sociable and confident little boy.”
