The Met Office has issued an unexpected health warning for Worksop later this week.

The warning has been triggered because they believe there is a 60 per cent chance or higher of temperatures being high enough on at least two consecutive days and the intervening night to have a significant effect on health.

As a result, the Met Office has declared a Level 2 health alert.

The heatwave period is expected to start on the evening of Thursday 17th July and go into Friday daytime and through until Saturday.

Experts have warned people to stay indoors and make sure they keep their rooms at cool temperatures at night.
