This week’s Worksop Guardian front page went viral - before it even hit the news stands.

On Thursday afternoon dozens of people around the world tweeted and retweeted about our ‘Sex, Drugs, and Toilet Roll’ headline about the public lavatories on Gateford Road that have been closed after numerous incidents of sexual activity and drug abuse there.

The frenzy started when the Wall Street Journal’s Multimedia Innovations Editor, Neal Mann, tweeted a picture of the front page saying: “Love this - BRILLIANT local newspaper front page from the Worksop Guardian.”

Within minutes dozens of people from across the globe had retweeted Neal’s tweet, with some adding their own comments.

This week’s 104 page Worksop Guardian is out now.
