Weather forecasters are now certain a giant storm that has formed in the Atlantic will affect most of the UK.

A Yellow Warning for heavy rain and high winds is in force for Bassetlaw meaning people should be prepared for the severe conditions.

The stormy weather will start on Sunday night and will last through the Monday morning rush hour and into the early afternoon.

The storm is being described as ‘the worst in years’ and there could be gusts of 80mph or even 90mph in some places. That is enough to uproot trees and cause structual damage.

As well as the high winds, up to two inches of rain could fall leading to flood risks and cause travel disruption.
