Dinnington Comprehensive students got into a lather recently as they washed cars to raise money for their sports tour.

The pupils spent eight hours washing cars at the Butcher’s Arms Pub in Woodsetts to raise funds for the trip to Canada next summer.

“The car wash was a terrific success and we raised £724 which is quite unbelievable,” said teacher Dana Abdulkarim.

“The owners of the Butcher’s Arms were so accommodating providing all the water without charge.”

“The whole of the tour team are so appreciative of the generosity of all those that came and trusted us with their cars and in some cases Transit vans.”
