Police are urging van owners not to leave power tools in their vehicle overnight after three thefts in one weekend.

On Friday 12th April, a £400 drill was stolen from a van in West Melton.

Then on Saturday 13th April, £500 of power tools were stolen from a vehicle in Wath and over £2,000 worth of power tools taken from a vehicle in Dinnington.

South Yorkshire Police’s crime reduction project officer, PC Andy Robinson, said: “Van owners need to remove as many portable power tools from their vehicles as possible and take them into their home or a secure garage overnight.”
