HUNDREDS of pounds were raised by a Harworth duo who pounded the streets for a good cause.

Christopher Kent and Robert-Dean White completed a sponsored 13-mile hike from Harworth to Worksop in aid of Help For Heroes.

A total of £272 has already been collected in donations, but there is still more to come.

“They had both meant to do an organised charity walk from Retford to Worksop, but it was called off,” explained Robert-Dean’s dad. Francis Robert White.

“Rather than have to collect back all the cash people had pledged, they decided to do their own walk.”

The pair are said to be pleased with the amount raised, and hope more of their sponsors will add to the charity fund in the near future.
