Detectives investigating the death of a man in Worksop have made two arrests.

Two men, aged 28 and 59, are in custody today (June 9) for questioning in connection with the incident.

A 23-year-old man collapsed close to the entrance of Bassetlaw District General Hospital in Kilton Hill on Tuesday, May 31.

He had been dropped off outside the maternity ward at about 8.40pm. Between then and 9.25pm, he suffered a brain injury which caused his death.

Detectives are working to establish how he came to suffer this fatal injury.

Detective Inspector Andy Bateman said: “We are continuing to investigate this death, which still very much remains unexplained.

“The family of this young man deserve to know what happened to their loved one.

“If you were on the hospital site, between the entrance to the maternity ward and the main Kilton Hill entrance that evening and recall seeing anything out of the ordinary, pick up the phone and call us.”
