Strong winds battered the area Wednesday night - uprooting trees and creating dangerous driving conditions.
A lorry driver was rescued by firefighters after his vehicle was blown over in high winds on Thursday morning.
The man in his 40s was travelling southbound on the M1, between junction 31 at Aston and junction 30 at Barlbrough. The lorry toppled over and down the banking at the side of the road, at around 5.45am.
The driver could not get out until firefighters from Aston Park cut the windscreen away. He was unharmed, and did not require medical treatment.
A tree was blown over in Swallownest, leading to Wesley Avenue being closed in both directions between the Aston Lane junction and the Worksop Road junction.
