Todwick: Man dies after A57 crash

A 29-year-old man who sustained life-threatening injuries in a three-car pile up on the A57 in Todwick has died in hospital.

The crash, which happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday 14th June, involved a black BMW 3 series, a yellow Vauxhall Astra van and a white Vauxhall Astra estate.

The black BMW, driven by the 29-year-old man, was travelling along the A57 Worksop Road, from Todwick towards Worksop.

The Astra van and estate were travelling on the opposite side of the road, towards Todwick, when the BMW and Astra estate were involved in a collision between Kiveton Lane and Goosecarr Lane.

The Astra van reportedly took evasive action and swerved off the road onto the embankment.

The 29-year-old man, from Sheffield, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he sadly died on Wednesday 25th June.

Four other people were taken to hospital with injuries, the 41-year-old man driving the Astra van, the 45-year-old man driving the Astra estate and two of his passengers, a 46-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy.
