Thief stole chicken

A THIEF who stole chicken fillets in order to sell them and buy food will have to pay back more than he bargained for.

The court heard how Edwin Reeves, 25, of Queen Street, Worksop, admitted taking £5.98 worth of chicken from Sainsbury’s in Newcastle Avenue on 16th January.

Defending, David Verity said: “He had no money at all, he simply wanted some food. He sold it and obtained £3.”

Reeves must now pay £165 in fines and costs, plus £5.98 compensation.
