DO YOU want to find out more about plans to build 10,000 homes, create new jobs and bring a much-needed boost to the area?
Then come along to the consultation event on Tuesday 13th March at the Guildhall, Marshall’s Yard, and get some answers.
The Central Lincolnshire Joint Planning Unit will be there to explain their vision for Gainsborough over the next 20 years.
They are putting together planning policies that will allow for major growth in the town and surrounding villages, attracting developers, employers and infrastructure like schools, shops and doctors surgeries.
Projects already announced include a new neighbourhood hosting more than 2,500 new homes on land south of Foxby Lane, a new Spar shop and shopping centre on Corringham Road and an innovative new business hub at the former Plough pub on Church Street.
“We are working on a new joined up strategy to develop the major conurbations in central Lincolnshire which include Lincoln, Gainsborough, Sleaford and Market Rasen,” said Luke Fleming, team leader of the CLJPU.
“By doing this we will have a joint plan that will benefit three local authorities and look at the bigger picture - how different places can influence each other by working as a whole.”
“These events are a ‘heads up’ for people to come and find out about our plans before it goes to consultation later in the year - then they can have their say.”
Mr Fleming encouraged anyone with an interest in the future of Gainsborough to attend Tuesday’s event.
It runs from 9am - 5pm at the Guildhall at Marshall’s Yard. No appointment is necessary, just pop in and have a chat.
