A ‘serial offender’ who repeatedly stole from cars and sheds has been given a criminal behaviour order.

Peter Downs, 43, of Winifred Street, Worksop, was handed a two-year order at Mansfield magistrates’ court on Tuesday.

Downs was told that he would not be allowed to do the following over 24 months:

• Enter the Dukeries Industrial Estate or surrounding area

• Enter the Highgrounds Industrial Estate or surrounding area

• Ride or be on any form of bike in Worksop

Failure to comply with the order could see Downs given a custodial sentence.

PCSO Ruth Dixon, from Worksop police station, said: “I am extremely proud of the officers who have worked so hard to gain this criminal behaviour order.

“Downs is a serial offender and this shows our determination to severely restrict the activity of an individual who shows no respect for the law.”
