WORKSOP dad Scott Stretton raised more than £400 for the British Red Cross following an impressive 85-mile bike ride around nearby the countryside.

The former Army and Marine cadet suffered a broken leg when competing in a battlefield training run and was told he would never walk again.

That was until just over a year ago, when the hard work began with the help and support of Harvey’s Gym, on Central Avenue.

He completed the challenge in less than 10 hours.

Scott said: “It’s really important to me that my efforts raise money for a cause I believe in.”
