Rising duo to play Letwell

Lewis Nikitman and John Reilly

Lewis Nikitman and John Reilly

JOHn Reilly, the voice of favourite South Yorkshire band Boy On A Dolphin, is set to play in Letwell this month.

His apperance at the village hall on Saturday 23rd February comes just as his career is taking off thousands of miles away on the other side of thr Atlantic.

The hugely talented singer songwriter still boasts a large following in Canada – where the band tasted success and filled major stadiums in the late 90s.

The release of Reilly’s latest album Zebulon – which he produced in collaboration with UK-based Canadian keyboards player Lewis Nitikman – has re-awakened interest across the water with tracks from the album getting lots of radio airplay throughout Canada in recent times.

Building Avalon, the newly-issued single from the album, landed in the Canadian charts for the first time last month to the delight of John and Lewis back home in Sheffield.

Lewis, who moved to the Steel City from Vancouver three years ago, said as a Canadian native he was thrilled to bits with the news.

“The radio stations over there seem to love Zebulon. It’s getting played all over the place from Quebec to Ontario, and all the places in between. And the exposure is doing the single no harm at all,” he said.

The pair will be showcasing the album, together with music from John’s extensive back catalogue, at Letwell Village Hall on Saturday 23rd February.

Limited tickets are available for the concert and can be purchased by calling 07831 350 157 or 01909 540694.

All proceeds raised from the event will go to support the village hall.
