Retford: Stolen Apple ipod recovered by police

A Retford man has been found guilty of handling a stolen ipod.

Darren Turner, 41, of Strawberry Road, pleaded not guilty but was convicted on 21st July 2014.

The court heard that Turner entered a cash brokers on 30th April on behalf of another man who had ‘promised’ him it was not stolen. However it was and Turner was arrested.

In mitigation, Andrew Bevan said his client had no involvement in the actual theft and only had the ipod for a short period of time.

Turner was sentenced to a 12-months community order with 12-months supervision, ordered to pay £50 compensation and complete a Thinking Skills Programme.
