Richard Lammie, 38, of Blue Bell Court, Ranskill, had been out drinking before he returned home to find that his child was crying because of a skin condition.

He said that milk usually helps with the condition so he decided to drive to a shop.

Police officers pulled him up in his Mercedes a short distance from his house and he recorded a low level reading but was over the limit.

He pleaded guilty at Worksop Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3rd July and received a community order, £355 fine, £85 costs, £60 victim surcharge and was banned from driving for 26 months.
