DETERMINED cries filled the air at County Hall as protestors joined the march to protest against county council cuts today (Thursday).
Hundreds of people marched over Trent Bridge shouting “No ifs, not buts, no county council cuts” as they protested over the authority’s plans to make £87m savings next year.
The rally came on the same day councillors met in the council chambers to rubber-stamp the cuts - many of which will affect the elderly, vulnerable and disabled.
County chouncil chiefs say they need to save £184m over the next four years due to reduced government grants but will reinvest around £42m in services experiencing extra demand.
