A charity pub crawl around Worksop raised £425 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, taking the grand total raised by the Whitwell Players Amateir Dramatic Group to £1,000.

The bawdy bunch took their collection buckets around all the watering holes in town, asking for donations.

“We want to thank everyone who donated. It was amazing considering the pubs were not even that full,” said organiser Nicola Pelham.

The next fundraising stunt will be a nude calendar which will be sold to promote the Players’ upcoming October show Calendar Girls at the Acorn Theatre.
