Paul, was trained as an actor at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has worked in television and radio and has done commercials, voice-overs, journalism and corporate presenting.

Paul began his life in broadcasting at the age of 11, on The BBC Home Service, working alongside the already well-known Johnny Morris, in a Children’s Hour programme called ‘The Adventures of Clara Chuff.

Paul, is married with two sons and triplet daughters, and for seven years worked as the main presenter for QVC.

The presenters on the show are not given the benefit of auto cue meaning that they have to work live for four hours at a time, which, said Paul means that he has no trouble talking but finds it quite difficult to stop.

Jewellery plays a big part on QVC and presenters have to learn everything there is to know about precious metals and gemstones and members were privy to a few trade secrets.

High profile guests also featured on the show and Paul caused much laughter from his audience by relating many hilarious anecdotes whilst impersonating the relevant personalities.

The talk was preceded by the club’s AGM.

The new season begins on Thursday 11th September when the speaker will be Paul Whittaker, an ambassador for ‘Music for the Deaf.’
