Pause for Thought

“Revenge is sweet”, some would have us believe.

By contrast Archbishop Desmond Tutu suggests, Goodness is stronger than evil; love is stronger than hate; light is stronger than darkness; life is stronger than death. Tutu has personal experience of evil, hatred, darkness and death and yet is inspired by the Jesus who said, as he hung on the cross, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34a). Instead of seeking revenge, let us pray, Father, forgive them. For as and when we do the world will become more a place where hatred loses its grip. Rev Geoffrey S. Clarke, The Crossing.
