Auditions are now open for talented youngsters across Nottinghamshire to enter Showcase 2015.

The event, which is organised by Notts County Council, encourages people who are talented in the arts, music, dance or drama, to audition and get the opportunity to showcase their work on centre stage.

Contestants must be aged between 13 years-old to 19-years-old and can audition as part of a group or individuals.

Those who are successful will get the chance to perform at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham.

Vice-Chairman of the Children and Young People’s Committee, at Notts County Council, Coun Liz Plant, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for talented young people across the county.”

“We want to celebrate everyone who has strong aspirations to get into the entertainment industry.”

If lucky, the entrants could get the opportunity to work with experts at County Youth Arts, who are part of Notts County Council, to develop their talents.

Coun Plant added: “Our County Youth Arts team have excellent industry links to a range of professionals.”

“These professionals are able to provide top class support to musicians, dancers, singers and others, who are interested in getting into these careers , with the prospect of performing their act as part of Showcase 2015.”

There will be auditions for bands, music and drama acts on Saturday 29th November, at The Old Library in Leeming Street, Mansfield and dance auditions at Outwood Academy Valley, in Valley Road, Worksop, on Sunday, 30th November.

Participants will take part in rehearsals from 2.30pm.

Family and friends will be invited to an evening of mini-Showcase auditions at 7pm, so the youngsters can perform their routines in front of their harshest critics.

The successful music acts will feature in the main Showcase performance at the Royal Concert Hall, in Nottingham, on Tuesday 17th February.

Dance, drama and other performers will get to showcase their talents at the Palace Theatre, in Mansfield, on 19th and 20th February.

The deadline for anyone who wants to enter is Monday 10th November for the forthcoming Showcase 2015.
