Our 2013 programme starts with a talk by Nigel Slater in which he will update the group on Attenborough Nature Reserve, on Saturday 12th January. The open water and reed beds attract a wide variety of birds and there are excellent hides and paths around the reserve which is alongside the River Trent near Nottingham. Since our first visit many years ago, when the group coach turned up at a working gravel pit by mistake, the reserve now has a luxurious visitor centre, from where it is possible to watch what is happening, whilst eating a meal, thanks to their television cameras! All our meetings are held at Clowne Methodist Church on North Road and start at 6.30pm. Entrance is free and light refreshments are available. For further information about the group please contact Jim Russell 01246 812724.
