BASSETLAW Amputee Group: Meets every second Tuesday of the month, 10am at the Crossing Church, Worksop. Provides free impartial advice and support to amputees and their carers.

BASSETLAW Hospital League of Friends: 19th - 23rd November, members of the League of Friends will be in the Outpatients Department of the hospital where we shall be selling tickets for our Christmas Raffle. First prize will be a Christmas hamper and there will be many other prizes. Anyone visiting the hospital for an appointment between those dates please look out for us and support us when you can. 19th December, starting at 7pm we shall be holding our annual Lessons and Carols Service in the hospital chapel, refreshments will be served afterwards. We look forward to seeing new faces.

BREATHEASY, Bassetlaw: Meets on 2nd Tuesday of the month at the The Oasis, Longfellow Drive. Various speakers attend offering a wide range of information, advice and support to anyone with a lung condition including carers, relatives and friends. The group also arrange outings and fundraising events. Exercise classes take place at The Arena from 1-2pm every Friday, admission £3 and includes a qualified instructor. DUKERIES Decorative And Fine Arts Society: At the November meeting members were held spellbound by an illustrated talk by Dr David Webb on David Hockney, Dr Webb has known David Hockney for over 40 years and has written a biography of him. From his school days David Hockney only wanted to be an artist. He went on to produce a series of large landscapes which formed the heart of a major exhibition at the Royal Academy earlier this year. The next meeting is on 5th December at 1.55pm in St Anne’s Church Hall, when Dr Susan Kay-Williams will speak about Imperial Purple to Denim Blue - the colourful history of textiles.
