ST LAWRENCE’S Church: Said Eucharist at 8am on the first Sunday of each month. Sung Eucharist at 9.30am every Sunday (except for the fifth Sunday in any month). Mid-week Said Eucharist held every Wednesday at 9.30am alternating each week between Whitwell and Creswell. Wedding and baptism bookings taken on the third Friday of each month between 6-7pm. These bookings are preceded by Prayers for the Community at 5.15pm. Christmas Lunch with carols in the community centre on Friday 7th December. Tickets £6 from fellowship members. The Autumn Fair on 10th November raised a total of £1,014.00 for church funds. A very big thank you to all those who supported and helped at this event.

WI: Shirley Hill President, gave ladies the sad news that member Esme Emblen had recently died and asked us to join her in one minute of silence. The coach for the group carol service on Tuesday 4th December Hodthorpe at 6pm. Cynthia Rollinson gave her report of the Community Centre Management Committee. Competition winners for the whole year were:- equal first - D. Lamb & C. Grant, third - C. Rollinson. The second half of the evening was the AGM and conducted by visiting County Advisor Jean Rawlins. Reports from the treasurers and secretary were adopted and Shirley Hill President gave her report thanking everyone for their hard work and support. The new committee were elected and as Shirley had indicated that she did not wish to continue as President, Liz Sternberg was elected the new President for 2013. Zoe Hague was presented with an arrangement of plants for supplying the milk for the year and Jean Rawlins was thanked and presented with a thank you gift. Tea hostesses were D. Wilson and Z. Hague with lovely cakes made by B. Deakin and M. McCracken.
Next meeting will be the Christmas party on Monday 10th December.
