MACMILLAN Coffee Morning: Friday 21st September at St Mary’s Parish Centre, Park Street, 10am-12noon. This event is taking place one week earlier than the usual Coffee Mornings to enable people to enjoy this event and others to follow. Several stalls including home-made cakes, preserves, greetings cards, jewellery, books, bric-a-brac, and this year a Christmas Stall as well as the usual big raffle. 20p admission. PARKINSON’S UK: The September meeting was a very lively and fun afternoon with Charlotte Ecclestone demonstrating Pilates and explaining the benefit it can have for people with Parkinson’s. An amusing quiz followed on the work of the Information and Support Officers for Parkinson’s UK . This month also, members travelled to Pickering by coach and by North York Moors steam train to Whitby. The Branch meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 2pm, Worksop Cricket Club. The speaker for the October meeting will be Robyn Ellis from the Notts Fire and Rescue Service and November welcomes a talk from County Enterprise Foods. WORKSOP Wonders WI: New members and visitors always welcome.We welcome ladies of all ages who are interested in meeting others and making new friends. The meeting usually has a speaker, activity or craft demonstration and meets on the second Wednesday in the month at The Crossing Centre, Newcastle Street, Worksop, 7-9.15pm. There is a yearly fee to join of £31.50 and this includes eight magazines during the year. Guests are welcome at a cost of £4 per evening but we welcome ladies to join us for one evening, free of charge. We are looking forward to organising some outings as we progress and members are encouraged to tell us what they would like to see included in the yearly programme.
