WORKSOP and District Pensioner’s Association: Meets on the second Wednesday of each month in a private room at The Crossing Church and Centre, 2-4pm. WORKSOP Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets: Needs You! It is a registered charity organisation staffed by volunteers. The Worksop unit consists of up to 40 cadets (male and female) between the ages of 10 and 18. Young people from all backgrounds come to learn and have fun. They also develop skills in many areas including; social, communication, team work, leadership and independence. There are many qualifications to be gained such as; sailing, rowing, power boating, D of E and many more: as well as opportunities to go Off Shore Sailing, go aboard HMS Bristol and take part in many competitions around the country. KILTON Pet and Raptor Rescue, Plantation Hill: Open throughout the year for anyone interested in homing unwanted animals or for fostering. The rescue centre is expanding to Lambley in Nottingham and has opened a Farm Park and Falconry Centre, which will be open to the public from 10am-5pm, 7 days a week. Volunteers are always needed.
