BASSETLAW Amputee Group: Meets every second Tuesday of the month, 10am at The Crossing Church, Worksop. Provides free impartial advice and support to amputees, their carers, friends and family.

BASSETLAW Cardiac Support (Affiliated to The British Heart Foundation): Open to anyone, and their partner, who has undergone or is to undergo heart treatment of any sort. DUKERIES Decorative And Fine Arts Society: The October meeting saw Mr Steven Desmond entertain members with his talk on 16th century Italian gardens. The next meeting is on Wednesday 2nd November at 1.55pm in St Anne’s Hall, Worksop, when Mrs Elizabeth Rumbelow will speak about A Celebration of the Seasons in Art, Poetry and Music. LEAGUE of Friends of Bassetlaw Hospital: Christmas Fayre, Wednesday 2nd November at the Masonic Hall, Queen Street, Worksop, 10am-12noon. Admission £1.50 to include coffee and mince pie. PROBUS Club of Worksop, Worksop Cricket Club: The bowls section continues to meet for friendly competitions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at North Notts Community Centre.

ROYAL British Legion, Worksop ‘branch: Are on the look out for members old and new. We meet at the Worksop Bowling Club on the last Thursday in every month, 7.30pm. STEP2IT Dukeries, Kilton Forest Golf Club: Health/Leisure walks every Thursday, commencing at 10am. Walks are one mile (beginners), three miles, five miles and occasionally seven miles. WORKSOP & District Scout Association are this year celebrating 100 years of Scouting within the district. We have held a number of events during the year and the final one is a service of celebration which will be held in the Worksop Priory Church on Sunday 6th November commencing at 2pm. It is anticipated that The president of the Nottinghamshire Scout Association Sir Andrew Buchanan will be in attendance together with a number of representatives from both scouting and from Bassetlaw. Scout flags will be paraded, music outside the church will be provided by the Retford Scout Band. Music and hymns will be by then Nottinghamshire Police Band. At the conclusion of the service all attending are invited to a drink and a piece of celebratory cake which will be served in the rear of the church by church members.

We are always looking to make new players welcome and experience is not necessary as we provide free tuition and loan of instrument. We are particularly looking for trombone or bass players. KILTON

KILTON Pet and Raptor Rescue, Plantation Hill: Open throughout the year for anyone interested in homing unwanted animals or for fostering. The rescue centre is expanding to Lambley in Nottingham and has opened a Farm Park and Falconry Centre, which will be open to the public from 10am-5pm, 7 days a week. Volunteers are always needed. ST PAUL’S Church: Sunday 9.30am Divine Liturgy. First Monday of the month (except Bank Holidays), Coffee Morning 10am-12noon, chat, bingo, games, etc., open to all ages. Every Monday bingo (term time only) doors open 7pm bingo starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9pm, free entry, refreshments available for a small charge. WORKSOP Town Lindrickaires Marching Band: Practices take place every Sunday, 3-4.30pm at Shrewsbury Road Community Centre. New members always welcome, no age limit required, just call in at the centre on Sunday to take part.
